ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY – The Bard men's tennis team celebrated three seniors in Tuesday afternoon's sweep of visiting Saint Elizabeth University.
Noah Gulla,
Drew Soleiman, and
Duncan MacDonald were all congratulated by teammates, coaches, and family at the Bard tennis courts ahead of the win.
Gulla has played at #1 singles throughout his time at Bard, which was disrupted significantly by the pandemic, and has been a force in both singles and doubles play and goes down as one of the top tennis players in Bard's history. He won his match on Tuesday 6-0, 6-0 after winning 8-2 at the top doubles spot with teammate
Thanasis Kostikas.
Soleiman has played both #3 and #4 doubles this year, having played as high as #1 and #2 in previous seasons. He also won 6-0, 6-0 in singles play against Saint Elizabeth, and won 8-0 in doubles alongside
Kai O'Donnell.
MacDonald won 6-2, 6-0 at #4 singles on Tuesday, and was victorious at #3 doubles with Faisal Jones. The senior political studies major has played throughout the lineup this season at the 4, 5, and 6 spots.
The Raptors closed the season with two 9-0 victories in two days, a strong end to the season and a fitting end for the seniors' careers.
