ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY – The Bard women's lacrosse team celebrated Senior Day on Saturday at Ferrari Field, honoring
Paige Gregg, Khadija Ghanizada, and
Lily Clough, prior to the game against Clarkson.
The game ran in favor of Clarkson, with the visitors winning 23-5.
Sarah Child had two goals and an assist,
Maggy Peyton had two goals, and
Izzi Popolizio added the Raptors' fifth.
Lexie Blackburn played the whole game in goal and had 11 saves.
Clarkson jumped out to an early 3-0 lead before Child pulled one back, but the visitors were able to close the quarter on a run. The Golden Knights maintained control of the game, but the Raptors finished the game strong, scoring the last two goals of the match and kept Clarkson off the board for the final nine minutes.
Gregg, Ghanizada and Clough were all first-years on the Bard team in 2020 when the season was cut short due to the pandemic, and were finally able to return to action in the 2022 season. All three have been consistent starters in the last two seasons, missing games only due to injuries, and their leadership has been critical to the team this year.
The Raptors will finish the season on Wednesday when the team hosts Union on Ferrari Field at 6pm.
