CHESTER, Penn. – The Bard women's track team competed at the Danny Curran Invitational hosted by Widener University on Saturday, enjoying a number of standout individual performances.
The large number debuts and PRs resulted in a great day for the team.
"Today was probably the best performance our women's team has had since I've been here at Bard," said Coach Billy Poole-Harris. "Their tenacity showed everyone that the program has taken a step forward and moved us up a peg. I am extremely honored to Coach these young women to achieve something special on the track."
Hawra Moochhala continued her rapid improvement with another great performance in the 200m, posting a new PR and pulling closer to the school record in the event.
Jynaiya Grizzle and Julius Nguyen also set PRs in the same event.
Several Raptors also set PRs in the 400m (Moochhala,
Sophia Tighe,
Chloe Desautels, Lizzie Aldous, J. Nguyen, and Laura Ibanez), and the 100m (Grizzle,
Erica Lee,
Alex Nguyen, and
Genevieve Donaldson).
In the 800m, both
Sadie Torre and Emilia Cooper made their collegiate debuts at the distance and ran well.
The Raptors will be back in action on Friday evening at Vassar's Twilight Open meet in Poughkeepsie.
