WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Bard women's track team started the outdoor season on Sunday with a number of strong individual performances at the Monmouth Spring Opener.
For several Raptors, the meet was their first collegiate outdoor competition, and many set PRs throughout the day long event. The 200m had three Raptors all run well, led by
Hawra Moochhala posting a 28.02 mark, and followed closely by
Sophia Tighe and
Chloe Desautels.
Moochhala again led Bard in the 400m, this time followed by Lizzie Aldous,
Sophia Tighe, and Laura Ibañez. A pair of Raptors,
Abby Frazier and
Sadie Torre, also ran well in the 1500m, and first-year
Martha Gomez set an outdoor PR in the shot put.
The Raptors will compete every weekend moving forward into May, with the Danny Curran Invitational in Chester, Penn., next Saturday.
