ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. — The Bard College women's basketball team's second-half comeback was not enough to overcome Ithaca on Saturday afternoon, as the Raptors fell to the Bombers 73-52 at Stevenson Athletic Center. 

Bard (2-4, 0-2 Liberty League) had three players with double-digit points. Junior Maggy Peyton nearly had a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. She added two assists and a steal. Sophomore Shirley Dong totaled 14 points and dished out a team-high three assists while grabbing five rebounds. First-year Aislynn Dixon shot a career-high four three-pointers and totaled 14 points. 

In the first quarter, Bard struggled to find their shot, only scoring six points. By the second quarter, the Raptors shot 5-of-12 from the field and hit all four free throws. 

The third quarter was a game-changer for the Raptors as they outshot Ithaca 19-14. Bard was 5-of-7 from three-point range and scored five second-chance points. The Raptors held Ithaca to single-digit points until the final minute of the third quarter when the Bombers hit two back-to-back layups. Bard and Ithaca each scored 12 points in the fourth quarter. 

Bard's 52 points against Ithaca is the most by the women's basketball team against Ithaca since the first time the Raptors played against Ithaca on Nov. 20, 2015. 

Bard will host Union on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. for its White Out theme game.
