ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. —The Bard College women's basketball team dropped its conference opener against RIT, 76-56 at the Stevenson Athletic Center.
Bard (2-3,0-1 Liberty League) was led by junior
Maggy Peyton, who had her third game in double-digit points this season, scoring 15. Peyton shot 6-of-13 from the floor and grabbed six boards. She also had three assists, two blocks, and two steals. Sophomore
Shirley Dong added 11 points and dished a team-high seven assists.
First-year
Erin Tobes had a career-high four steals and added two points and two assists. Fellow first-year
Lexi Miller, who was limited in playing time due to early foul trouble, still had seven points and six rebounds.
Jessica Martin and
Aislynn Dixon had six points and two rebounds each.
The Raptors were outscored by RIT (2-2, 1-0) in the first three quarters, but in the fourth, Bard scored 25 points. In that quarter, Bard shot 10-of-12 from the field and was a perfect 3-for-3 from behind the arc.
Bard will be back at home tomorrow when the team hosts Ithaca at 2 p.m. inside Stevenson Athletic Center.
