The Bard College men's basketball team dropped a hard-fought exhibition to Division I opponent Columbia University, 86-36, on Sunday evening inside Schiller Court at Levien Gymnasium.
The Raptors were led by senior Rowan Heinze with 10 points and six rebounds. Heinze shot 4-of-7 from the field, and had two steals. Senior Heston Tucker made the first bucket of the night for the Raptors and totaled six points and three rebounds, while shooting 3-of-4 from the field.
First-year Azikiwe Cuffy-Scott made his collegiate debut and totaled four points, going 2-of-2 from the free-throw line. Junior Ahmad Rauf grabbed six rebounds and had a block. Senior Azriel Almodovar dished out four assists, and added four points, five rebounds, a steal, and a block.
This weekend, Bard will head to SUNY New Paltz for the Hudson Valley Classic, facing Mount Saint Mary on Friday at 8 p.m. followed by a contest against the hosts on Saturday at 6 p.m.
