The Bard women's soccer team closed its season on Saturday afternoon in a loss at Skidmore. The match was the final game for several seniors, including
Emma LaPenta,
Emma Kuntz,
Kylie Quinn, and
Mae Redmond.
After a hard-fought opening to the match, the Thoroughbreds took the lead in the 23rd minute, and added a second eight minutes before the half. The hosts added to their lead in the second half and closed the match to take a 5-0 win.
Kuntz led the Raptors with three of the team's shots, and fellow senior had a shot on goal as well.
Carina Cooke, Sierra Celeberti and
Mahlia Slaiby all had shots as well but could not beat the Skidmore goalkeeper.
Seymone Rosenberg made eight saves in the match, closing a stellar season in goal for Bard.
The Raptors finish the year with a 4-10-1 record, including several excellent wins and an impressive draw against Vassar at home. Quinn led the team with five goals on the season, followed by Cooke and
Waleska Brito with four apiece. Cooke also led the team (and the Liberty League) with eight assists.
