ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Bard College women's swimming team won a pair of events Saturday as it hosted SUNY Potsdam at the Aquatics Center.

Olivia Dower completed a difficult double in the middle of the meet, beginning with a victory in the 200-yard individual medley (IM) of 2:33.13. Soon after, she competed in the 100-yard butterfly and posted a second-place time of 1:09.62.

The Raptors started out the meet strong with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay. The quartet of Mary Mendez, Tai Fontes-Janusz, Yolanda Liu and Olivia Dower posted a four-second victory with a time of 2:05.35.

Gaius Forsyth finished second in the 1,000-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 13:50.51, while Sophie Levy took second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:56.16. Mendez was the runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke, swimming 1:12.63. Junior Martha Gomez had her collegiate debut in the 1,000-yard freestyle. 

Bard concluded the meet with a second-place swim in the 200-yard freestyle relay, as Julia Pelletier, Sarah Shein, Katelyn Campoverde and Levy finished in 2:10.14.

The dual meet ended in favor of the Bears, 137-75.

Bard is back in action next Saturday at St. Lawrence.
