The Bard College men's and women's swimming teams competed on the first day of the 2024 Liberty League Championships being contested at Ithaca. The Raptors swam the prelims in the morning and they must finish Top 24 in their event to qualify for the evening finals.
Every Raptor swam a season-best, with six Raptors achieving personal bests in their morning prelims. Some of the highlights of the morning were
Gaius Forsyth, smashing their record from 6:39.97 to 6:10.26 in the 500 free, and
Rose Rahimi, cutting nearly three seconds off their personal best in the 50 free.
Martha Gomez also cut down her personal best to 8:51.35 in the 500 free.
On the men's side,
Reece Sherf and
Owen O'Reilly both swam a personal best in the 50 free.
Day 2 begins at 10 a.m. Thursday with prelims.
