The Bard College women's swimming team competed in Sarah Lawrence's TYR Sprint Carnival on Saturday afternoon, defeating Western Connecticut State, 134-46, tying William Paterson 101-101, and falling to host Sarah Lawrence, 83-132.
The Raptors won two individual events, and first-years
Zlata Pasion and
Sarah Shein had their collegiate debuts. It was the second meet for the Raptors after a break last week from competition.
Senior
Gaius Forsyth set a new personal record in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing second with a time of 2:29.12. Forsyth then set another personal record in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing fifth with a time of 1:17.45.
First-year
Tai Fontes-Janusz won the 50-yard breaststroke, setting a new personal best with a time of 35:98. Fontes-Janusz also won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:21.59.
Bard will host SUNY Potsdam on Saturday at 1 p.m. for their first home meet of the season.
