ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's tennis team opened the 2022 season with a 7-2 Liberty League loss to Union on Wednesday.

Thanasis Kostikas survived a tiebreaker to prevail at No. 1 doubles, 8-7 (7-4). Later, Gulla won his No. 1 singles match, 6-3, 6-1. Kostikas took the first set at No. 2 singles but ended up losing in three.
"So many long points were played in doubles matches today," Bard coach Roge Nesbitt said. "It was action-packed. We won a thriller at No. 1 doubles and won in a tiebreak."
Bard next hosts Ramapo College on Wednesday.
