Bard got personal bests as well from
CeDaniel Sumpter in the 400,
Nic Soucy in the 800, and a PR and school record from
Reed Campbell in the 1,500. Keelan went out in the 800 at a comfortable pace, then passed five runners on the back stretch and produced the fastest 800 time in the Liberty League so far this spring. It's the 30th-fastest 800 time in the country.
"Our plan was to have Jack go out in 54, but he went out in 56, which is fine," Bard coach Billy Poole-Harris said. "The guys ahead of him were just playing tiddly-winks, so he just took off. He's evolving."
Bard will next compete in the Cortland Upstate Alternative Meet on Saturday, Apr. 16.
"The members of this team are getting up early, facing adversity, being disciplined, going through it together, then going out and achieving things," Poole-Harris said. "Now we're really starting to have fun."
