DELHI, N.Y. - The Bard College men's tennis team defeated SUNY-Delhi, 5-4, in a non-league match on Friday.
The match last more than three hours due to multiple tiebreakers, and a newcomer to the team, sophomore
Sam Marcus, ended up winning the clincher in a tiebreaker at No. 4 singles.
"It was such a close match," Bard coach Roge Nesbitt said. "Everyone on the team contributed, right down to the last point."
Augustin Johnson and
Yashar Khan also won tiebreakers in their singles matches, while
Daniyal Zafar and
Henry Wandover won a key match at No. 3 doubles.
Bard is right back on the court on Saturday morning for a Liberty League match against St. Lawrence, and the Raptors also take on Sarah Lawrence at Purchase College on Sunday.
