Raptors lose heartbreaker in OT, 12-11

NEWBURGH, N.Y. - The Bard College women's lacrosse team lost to Mount St. Mary College, 12-11, in overtime in a non-league game on Saturday afternoon.

Sarah Child led Bard with four goals. Lily Clough and Maggy Peyton each scored twice. Rachael Yoder had one goal, one assist and seven draw controls. Izzi Popolizio had a goal and four ground balls, and Roxanne Rouskas made 13 saves.

"Not the result that we wanted, but very proud of the effort and grit we showed to push the game into overtime," Bard coach Rachel Vallarelli said. "Roxanne Rouskas made several momentum-changing saves and kept us in the game."

Bard next plays at Sage on Saturday.

"We had a tight bench, and everyone contributed and fought until the end," Vallarelli said. "We have things we can work on from this game and it will push us forward as we continue our season."
