Raptors edged at Bryn Mawr, 10-8

BRYN MAWR, Pa. - The Bard College women's lacrosse team lost to Bryn Mawr College, 10-8, in a non-league game on Wednesday afternoon.

The first meeting between these schools in women's lacrosse was tight throughout and tied six times, the last time at 8-8 with just over three minutes left in the game.

"I'm really proud of the effort, heart, hustle and grit the team showed today," Bard coach Rachel Vallarelli said.

Bard got four goals from Sarah Child, two from Izzi Popolizio, and single goals from Rachael Yoder and Gillian Adkins. Emma Heffron led the team with six ground balls and three caused turnovers, while Roxanne Rouskas made 15 saves with a .600 save percentage.

"It was a complete team effort," Vallarelli said. "We played solid defensively and worked for the best options on offense."

Bard dives back into Liberty League play this weekend. The University of Rochester will be at Ferrari Field on Friday, and Rochester Institute of Technology will visit on Saturday.
