ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's soccer team defeated Brooklyn College, 1-0, in a non-league game on Tuesday night.
It was the first meeting between the schools in women's soccer.
Bard dominated throughout, outshooting Brooklyn, 49-0 - Bard had 25 shots in the first half, and 24 in the second half. But Brooklyn senior goalkeeper Angelina Vasta made several key saves (she finished with 26) and the game remained scoreless well into the second half.
Finally, Bard broke through in the 70th minute.
Emilia Vella made a run down the left wing and flicked a pass with the outside of her right foot across to the top of the box.
Kylie Quinn stepped in and drilled a shot past Vasta and inside the far post. Quinn and
Abby Frazier produced six shots on goal apiece, and
Carina Cooke had five.
Up next for Bard is a Liberty League game at Ithaca on Saturday afternoon.
