PATCHOGUE, N.Y. - The Bard College women's volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday, losing to St. Joseph's of Long Island, and defeating Maritime.
It was the final day of the 2022 season for the Raptors, who took one set from the hosts before sweeping Maritime in a neutral site match.
Bard first year
Nyla Lawrence moved into a third place tie in the Bard record book in blocks in a season, as she finished her first season with 57 of them. She had six in Bard's 3-1 loss to St. Joseph's-Long Island, to go with four kills and two digs.
Ryan Lum and
Emily Hall Smith had 10 kills apiece in that one. Lum added 13 digs,
Adi David had 26 assists, and
Ella Small led the squad with 14 digs.
In a 3-0 sweep of Maritime, Lum had a season-high 19 kills and hit .432.
Anna Skamser had seven kills in her final match, David contributed 28 assists, and Lum led the team with nine digs.
Bard finished
Lindsey Veersma's first season at 8-18 overall, but with two Liberty League victories, a first for the program.
