Lum, Star shine in battle with Morrisville State

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Bard College women's volleyball team lost a pair of neutral-site matches at RIT on Saturday.

Bard lost to DeSales, 3-0, then was defeated by Morrisville State, 3-1.

Bard junior Ryan Lum and sophomore Precious Star had impressive numbers in the second match of the day. Lum finished with 14 kills and hit .382, while Star had seven kills (.333) and six blocks. Adi David had 27 assists and Puja Clements led the Raptors with nine digs. Emily Hall Smith contributed six kills (.308), three digs and two blocks.

Against DeSales, Nyla Lawrence and Anna Skamser led the Raptors with five kills apiece, David had 16 assists, and Ella Small had six digs. Clements finished with four aces.

It's back to Liberty League play this coming week for Bard, as the Raptors head down the road to Poughkeepsie on Wednesday for a match at Vassar.
