ONEONTA, N.Y. - The Bard College men's soccer team lost to Hartwick College, 3-0, in a non-league match on Tuesday evening.
The Hawks (2-1) scored once in the first half and twice in the second half, led by two goals and an assist from sophomore Jim Mahony (Bournemouth, England).
"It was a difficult field to play on and we had difficulty connecting on passes," Bard coach
TJ Kostecky said. "In the first half, I was pleased because we competed and were unfortunate not to finish a couple of good chances."
Gavin Hersey made five saves for Bard.
"In the second half we needed to adjust better to their physicality and speed," Kostecky added. "They're a very good side."
Bard will next host its home opener on Saturday afternoon against York College.
