NORTON, Mass. - The Bard College women's basketball team lost to Wheaton College, 68-35, in a non-league game on Sunday afternoon.
Olivia Couture led Bard with 18 points and six rebounds.
Maggy Peyton added nine points and eight rebounds;
Thalia Grandinetti scored five points, and
Noabriali Alphonso-Gibbs contributed five rebounds.
"Another hard-fought road game," Bard coach
Casi Donelan said, "but we battled and the energy we showed today is much more indicative of what Bard women's basketball stands for. We had great leadership from (Couture) and (Alphonso-Gibbs), with Olivia having probably the best game of her career in a position she's never played."
Liberty League play begins next for Bard, with RIT and Ithaca coming to Annandale on Dec. 3 and 4, respectively.
"One we get healthy, we will be a dangerous squad to deal with," Donelan said. "We are looking forward to taking the next two weeks to get healthy and develop and be ready for Liberty League play."
