Bard opened the meet by winning the 200-medley relay -
Mary Mendez,
Natasha Cameron,
Olivia Dower and
Natasha Cameron - and it was a good sign. Dower went on to take second in both the 200-free and 100-fly; Cameron was second in the 200-IM and the 100-breast; and O'Neill was second in the 50-free. Later,
Una Winn placed second in the 100-free.
"It was great to get the team's first win under our belt," Bard coach
John Weitz said. "The women really showed the progress we have made this fall. Lis Forsyth had another great swim this week in the 500. She came from behind on the last 25 to catch the girl from Maritime and touch her out.Â
Olivia Dower swam a great race in the 200 free, also coming from behind and holding off the Maritime swimmer.
"It was great having Natasha back after her fall with cross country," Weitz continued. "Running in the fall is great for her. She comes to us in great condition and ready to transfer that work to the pool. Her two races today are the fastest she has started the season. I look forward to what she can do after January 's training."
Up next for Bard is the Don Richards Invitational at RIT on Dec. 3-4.
