BRONX, N.Y. - The Bard College women's volleyball team swept Lehman College, 3-0, in a non-league match on Tuesday night.
Bard rolled, 25-17, 25-17 and 25-11, hitting a season-best .338 for the match, including .588 with no hitting errors in the third set.
"It was nice to get back on the court tonight," Bard coach
Stefanie Carrington said. "We used the last week to refresh and recover a little bit, but we also took the opportunity to implement some new offensive strategies. We still have some things we'll want to tweak but I'm genuinely happy with the way our student-athletes incorporated them into our match play."
Adi David had a busy night, producing six kills, nine digs and 22 assists.
Anna Skamser led the squad with eight kills (.467),
Emily Smith added seven kills, and
Laurel Edwards had six kills in her return to the lineup from injury.
"
Emily Peck controlled the match so well from the service line, especially in the third set," Carrington said. "
Lily Clough had a particularly standout performance on the defensive end, and
Anna Skamser was a tremendous weapon offensively."
The Raptors dive back into Liberty League play this weekend, at Clarkson on Friday and at St. Lawrence on Saturday.
