ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's basketball team fell behind early in their matchup against Skidmore College and were never able to catch up, falling 84-41 to the Thoroughbreds Saturday afternoon.
Skidmore (7-14, 6-8 LL) rode early momentum to a 16-4 advantage in the first eight minutes, including seven points from Greg Skoric (Ridgewood, N.J.). Despite 12 first half points from freshman guard
Kevin Le, the Raptors (0-20, 0-14 LL) were unable to get back in the game, as the Thoroughbreds closed out the half on a 21-4 run to take a 45-18 advantage into the intermission.
Freshman guard
Stefanos Psarras had a strong second half, scoring eight points in the final 20 minutes, but the deficit was too much for Bard to overcome. Skidmore had five players score in double figures, including Skoric, who led all players with 21 points and 20 rebounds on the afternoon as the visitors picked up a strong conference victory.
Le led the Raptors with 16 points and six rebounds on the day, and Psarras finished with 14 points.
Bard returns to the court Friday, Feb. 14, as they host RIT at 7:30 p.m.
