ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's basketball team lost to Union College, 60-32, in a Liberty League game on Saturday afternoon.
It was Bard's final home game of the 2019-20 campaign, and Senior Day for
Caleigh DeCaprio. She started her 92nd game for the Raptors and heads into the final two games of her career - on the road next weekend - two three-pointers shy of tying the program record in that category. She was honored during a pregame ceremony.
Nobody was making too many three-pointers on Saturday, because Union thrives on defense, and they got after it with tough man-to-man all day. Bard was down 10-7 after one quarter, but a 20-4 second quarter basically put the game away for the guests. It was 30-11 at halftime and 46-20 after three quarters.
Union didn't shoot it great (35 percent), but the Dutchwomen held Bard to 23 percent, so it didn't matter.
Freshman Megan Lee (Neenah, WI) led Union with 18 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and four assists.
Bard got 11 points, 11 rebounds and five assists from
Christina Kiser.
Marissa Munsell added 11 points and five rebounds.
The Raptors' season will conclude with games at William Smith (Friday) and Ithaca (Saturday). Follow both games live right here.
