POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Bard College women's basketball team lost to Vassar College, 93-42, in a Liberty League game on Saturday afternoon.
Bard (5-11 overall, 0-10 Liberty League) got off to a fast start, making three of its first four three-point attempts. Leading scorer
Christina Kiser had eight points in the first eight minutes before going down with an injury, and Vassar broke open a close game with a 17-4 run that bridged the first and second quarters. The Brewers (12-5, 8-2) led, 42-23, at halftime and never looked back.
Sophie Nick (Denver, CO) led Vassar with 21 points on 9-of-11 shooting and added seven rebounds. Natalie Pettirossi (Weston, MA) added 16 points, eight rebounds and four steals.
Bard got 10 points from
Jess Rylander, eight each from Kiser and
Olivia Couture, and six each from
Caleigh DeCaprio and
Marissa Munsell.
