She cruised to victory as Bard's only swimmer in the 1000-free, besting three swimmers from William Paterson, her nearest competitor finishing 30 seconds behind. Later, she comfortably won the 100-back.  A ceremony held during the meet honored her, and included her friends and family. Townend is not only a student-athlete at Bard, but President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Other highlights for Bard included Natasha Cameron winning the 100-breast, and placing second in the 200-free. Una Winn placed second in both the 50-free and 100-free, and Amanda Montgomery was second in the 200-IM, and had the second-best time in the 500-free.
