Men's soccer falls to SUNY Canton at home

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - In a tightly contested matchup with SUNY Canton, the Bard College men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision Saturday afternoon.

Junior goalkeeper Logan Leppo made four saves in the first half, and neither team was able to get on the scoreboard in the first 45 minutes as the teams played to a scoreless first half.

However, the Roos (2-0-2) would put the first goal of the game on the board in the 52nd minute, as a shot from the corner off the foot of Connor Bruyn (Poughquag, NY) found its way into the net to give the visitors the lead.

The Raptors (0-3) pushed hard and had many opportunities to tie the game throughout the second half, but were unable to get one past Canton goalkeeper Tyler Petersen (Brunswick, NY), who made seven saves on the day.

Bard outshout Canton 16-7 on the day, including a 7-6 advantage in shots on goal, and Leppo made five saves for the home team.

The Raptors are back in action Tuesday, Sept. 10, as they are on the road to take on SUNY Delhi, with that matchup getting underway at 4:30 p.m.
