DELHI, N.Y. - The Bard College men's soccer team scored first, but the lead was short-lived and the Raptors lost to SUNY Delhi, 3-1, in a non-league game on Tuesday.
Freshman
Jack Loud's first collegiate goal, in the 22nd minute off a feed from classmate
Dylan Jung, gave Bard a 1-0 lead. But less than two minutes later, the homestanding Broncos tied it up when Brody Rettle (Staten Island, NY) scored an unassisted goal.
Just over four minutes later, Rettle assisted on a goal by Juan Velez (Peekskill, NY), and it proved to be the game-winner.
The Broncos (2-3) outshot Bard, 8-4, in the first half, and 8-2 in the second half. Velez added an unassisted insurance goal in the 83rd minute.
Adel Elkafas made four saves in the first half for the Raptors (0-4).
Logan Leppo made five saves in the second half.
