ITHACA, N.Y. - Looking to pick up their first conference win of the season following a draw against Purchase College Wednesday night, the Bard College men's soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision to 12th-ranked Ithaca College Saturday afternoon.
The Bombers (8-1-1, 1-0 LL) got the scoring started in the 24th minute, when Max Barish (Bryn Mawr, Pa.) scored to give the home team a 1-0 lead. Barish added a second goal just four minutes later to extend the lead to two, and Theo Scott (Amherst, Mass.) picked up a goal in the 36th minute to give Ithaca a three goal lead heading into the intermission.
The Raptors (1-6-1, 0-2 LL) were unable to break through against Bombers goalkeeper Max Lichtenstein (Boca Raton, Fla.), who picked up the victory for the home team. Ithaca added two goals in the second half, scored by Brendan Lebitsch (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) and Aidan Keenan (Commack, N.Y.), giving the Bombers a 5-0 victory.
Bard returns to action Wednesday, Oct. 2, when they continue Liberty League play with a home matchup against RPI, with game time scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
