ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's lacrosse team lost to 19th-ranked Ithaca College, 23-4, in a Liberty League game on Friday afternoon.
Ithaca got on the board first just a couple of minutes into the game, and Bard tied it up quickly when
Casey Witte scored off a feed from
Melissa Rosenthal. It was 1-1 three minutes in.
But the Bombers (10-4 overall, 7-1 Liberty League) took control from there, scoring the next six goals. It was 17-3 at halftime.
Elizabeth Rice (Portsmouth, NH) scored six goals for Ithaca, while Allie Panara (Pittsford, NY) added two goals and four assists.
Witte scored twice for the Raptors (4-8, 0-7). Rosenthal finished with a goal and an assist, one ground ball and two draw controls.
Nicole Ellin scored Bard's other goal, and she led Bard with four ground balls. Freshman
Rachael Yoder had five draw controls and a pair of ground balls.
Izabel Kickner made four saves in the first half, and
Roxanne Rouskas made three saves in the second half.
