PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Bard College men's tennis team lost to Manhattanville College, 8-1, in a non-league match on Saturday.

The Valiants (2-5) swept the three doubles matches, and the first five singles matches, but the No. 1 singles match was taking a lot longer to complete.

Manhattanville junior Juan Heurtas (Bogota, Columbia) took the first set from Satchel Fisher, 6-4, but Fisher took the second, 6-1. Fisher then prevailed in the third set, 7-6, to give Bard its lone point of the day.

Up next for Bard (0-7) is a Liberty League match at St. Lawrence on Mar. 31.
