ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's volleyball team was defeated by Nazareth College in straight sets Friday night, in the team's United Volleyball Conference opener.
Set scores for the contest were 25-11, 25-13 and 25-8. With the result, the Raptors dropped to 1-3 on the year, while the Golden Flyers improved to 7-3.
Nazareth hit .424 overall and produced 34 kills, eight aces and seven blocks in the winning effort. In the third set alone, the guests hit .583 and collected 15 kills. Bard meanwhile, finished the game with just 12 kills altogether.
Tristan Kozul led the Raptors with four kills, a block and an assist.
Nic Smith added nine assists and
Price Ohmer collected two kills and two digs for Bard.
For Nazareth, Zachary Gillard (Oswego, NY) and Ethan Ross (Evanston, IL) each collected eight kills to lead the way, while Tyler Farnung (Rochester, NY) added 25 assists and four blocks in the win.
Up next for the Raptors in more UVC action, as they travel down the road to take on Vassar College. That game is set to begin at 11 a.m. tomorrow (February 9th). After that contest, Bard will take on Johnson & Wales University at 1 p.m. to complete its Saturday action. You can follow both contests right here.
