ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's volleyball team lost to Elmira College in a United Volleyball Conference match Friday night, falling in straight sets.
Set scores for the contest were 25-11, 25-14 and 25-17. The Soaring Eagles of Elmira (7-9 overall, 1-2 UVC) hit .347 on the night and recorded 38 kills and 16 aces. Ryan McDonough (Lindenhurst, NY) hit .500 and finished with 10 kills and six aces, while Matt Straney (Clifton Park, NY) added 10 kills and a block to lead Elmira.
After starting the contest slow, the Raptors (1-7, 0-4 UVC) hit .211 in the final set, as their play improved throughout the game. Bard finished with 14 kills, 10 of which came from
Tristan Kozul, and six blocks.
Kozul also led the team with six digs and added two blocks.
Radoslav Skular tallied four blocks, an ace and a kill in the effort.
