NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - The Bard College men's volleyball team was defeated in straight sets Wednesday night, falling to SUNY New Paltz in a United Volleyball Conference matchup.
Set scores for the contest were 25-16, 25-10 and 25-6. The result dropped the Raptors 1-5 overall and 0-3 in UVC play, while the Hawks of New Paltz improved to 8-2 and 2-0.
The hosts hit .509 on the night, including .643 in the final set and finished with 36 kills and 20 aces in the win. Nick Smith (Massapequa, NY) led the Hawks with 12 kills and four aces, while Matthew Grace (Holbrook, NY) added 24 assists and three aces.
For Bard,
Tristan Kozul finished with five kills and a block.
Joshua Han added two kills and
Adel Elkafas tallied four digs.
