MAHWAH, N.J. - The Bard College men's tennis team lost to Ramapo College, 9-0, in a non-league match on Saturday afternoon.
The Roadrunners (3-0) won all three doubles matches by 8-3 scores, but it took a couple of tiebreakers to complete the sweep in singles. Freshman
Noah Gulla, playing in his first collegiate match, lost the first set at No. 1 singles to Ramapo sophomore Alex Kogut (Wyckoff, NJ), 6-4. He responded by winning the second set, 6-3, before falling in a super tiebreaker, 10-7.
Likewise, freshman
Duncan McDonald pushed Ramapo senior Kevin Ilinets (Fair Lawn, NJ) to a super tiebreaker and lost, 10-4. The hosts won the other singles matches in straight sets.
Up next for Bard is a Liberty League match at Skidmore on Friday, Oct. 11. That will be the Raptors' last match of the fall portion of the season.
