NEW HAVEN, CONN. - In their final road match of the season, the Bard College women's volleyball team picked up a four set victory over Albertus Magnus College Tuesday evening.

The two teams traded points early in the first set, with Albertus Magnus (9-19) holding a two point lead. But Bard (8-18, 0-7 LL) answered with five consecutive points to take a 10-7 lead midway through the first. Following a rally by the Falcons that gave them a 14-13 lead, the Raptors again won five straight to take control, and held off a late comeback attempt by Albertus Magnus to pick up a 25-22 win in set one.
 
Bard trailed early in the second set by a score of 6-4, but once again put together a strong stretch, as the Raptors went on a 9-3 run to take a six point lead. The Falcons then went on a run of their own, winning five out of six points to close the gap to one. Late in the set with the teams tied at 18, Bard won four out of five to take the lead and again finished off the set with a 25-22 victory to go up 2-0 in the match.
 
The Raptors fell behind early in the third, as Albertus Magnus jumped out to an 8-2 lead. Bard fought back to even the score at 13, but the home team then won six straight points. The Raptors eventually got to within one point of tying it, but were not able to catch up and dropped set three 25-21.
 
The Falcons took an 8-6 lead in set four, but Bard came back with five points in a row to take the lead. Albertus Magnus cut the lead to two points late in the set, but the visitors put the match out of reach with a 4-1 run to claim a 25-18 victory and win the match 3-1.
 
Freshman Macey Spearko led the Raptors with 17 kills and added seven digs, while senior Maracela Talamantes and junior Mikala L'Hote had 10 kills apiece. Senior Jewel Smith led Bard with 32 assists and picked up 12 digs, and senior Emily Anastasi set a season-high with 39 digs on the night while also adding six assists.
 
The Raptors finish up their season Saturday, Nov. 2 for senior day. First, Bard faces off with the University of Saint Joseph at 3:30 p.m., followed by a matchup with the College of Mount Saint Vincent at 7:30 p.m.
