ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's basketball team lost to Union College, 62-41, in a Liberty League game on Tuesday night.
Union improved to 10-3 overall, 5-2 in the Liberty League, and Bard fell to 4-8, 0-7.
The Dutchwomen jumped out to leads of 9-3 and 12-5, but the Raptors hung in there and trailed 16-9 after one quarter. Union, one of the top defensive teams in the league, continued to make it hard for Bard to get any good looks at the basket, and it was 33-17 at the half. Bard was unable to get any closer in the second half.
Union senior Nicole Conley (Scotia, NY) led the winners with 19 points, four rebounds and three blocks.
The nation's leading scorer heading into the week, Bard freshman
Christina Kiser, finished with 17 points, five rebounds and three steals.
Jess Rylander contributed 10 points and four rebounds,
Katie Esposito had five points and eight rebounds, and
Olivia Couture added four points and six rebounds.
Bard will play two more conference games this weekend, at Skidmore (Friday) and at Vassar (Saturday). Follow both games live right here.
