MADISON, N.J. - The Bard College women's soccer team lost, 3-0, to Penn State-Behrend on the first day of the Drew Fall Festival on Saturday.
The Nittany Lions (2-1) scored twice less than five minutes apart in the first half to take charge. In the 31st minute, a shot by Brenna McGuire (McDonald, PA) was stopped by Bard keeper
Abigail Stanley, but McGuire punched the rebound home to make it 1-0.
In the 36th minute, McGuire struck again, this time beating Stanley to the far post after running onto a through ball from Madison Whipple (Canonsburg, PA).
The second half wasn't 10 minutes old yet when Penn State-Behrend made it 3-0. Laura Schaefer (Erie, PA) played a long ball over the top that was collected on the left side by Emily Indof (Greensburg, PA), and she scored in the 56th minute.
Bard (1-2) outshot Penn State-Behrend, 10-7, and corners were even at 4-4.
