AURORA, N.Y. - The Bard College men's volleyball team completed the 2018 season with losses to Penn State-Altoona and Wells on Saturday.
Penn State-Altoona swept Bard, 25-15, 25-16 and 25-19 to improve to 15-12 overall. The Nittany Lions hit .273.
Penn State-Altoona got up 6-1 and 10-4 in the first set, but the Raptors rallied and cut the deficit to 13-12. Bard never got the lead, however, and the Nittany Lions won the first set, 25-15.
Bard got down early in the second set and never recovered, losing it, 25-16.
In the third set, Bard started fast, leading 4-0 and 7-2. But Penn State-Altoona recovered, took the lead at 13-12 and never looked back.
Dan Downs (Reading, PA) led Penn State-Altoona with seven kills (.750). Tommy Kisick (Latrobe, PA) had 28 assists, and Brandon Arentz (Mount Wolf, PA) had four aces and 12 digs.
Tyler Zowaski had eight kills for Bard, while
Tristan Kozul added five kills and seven digs, and
Josh Kim had 15 assists.
Later, Wells swept Bard 25-12, 25-8 and 25-19, to improve to 20-7.
The Express got 10 kills (.667) and eight digs from Brannon Perdicho (Victor, NY), 17 assists from Scott Litvin (Sayville, NY), and 10 digs from Caden O'Loughlin (Louisville, KY).
Bard (3-21) got seven kills from Jelani Bell-Isaac, and 11 assists and eight digs from Zowaski.
