GENEVA, N.Y. - The Bard College women's tennis team lost to William Smith College, 8-1, in a Liberty League match on Sunday morning.

The Herons (11-5 overall, 4-2 Liberty League) swept the three doubles matches to start the day. Bard's only win on the singles side was at No. 2, where Anastasia Kachalova beat sophomore Leland Barclay (Williamsport, PA), 6-3, 6-3. At No. 1, Allie Perron (Hebron, CT) edged Bard's Katie Esposito, 6-4, 7-6.

Bard fell to 3-11 overall, 0-7 in Liberty League play.

Two matches remain on the 2017-18 schedule for the Raptors, both at home next weekend. Bard will host RIT on Saturday, and St. Joseph's-Long Island on Sunday.
