ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - A 22-6 run in the third quarter extended an eight-point lead to 24, and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute women's basketball team defeated Bard, 68-36, in a Liberty League game on Friday night.

The Raptors trailed by 12 at halftime, but consecutive layups by Caleigh DeCaprio and Elena LeFevre to start the third quarter cut RPI's lead to 28-20. The 22-6 run followed, and RPI improved to 11-11 overall, 7-8 in the Liberty League.

RPI got 13 points and seven rebounds from LaKissa Martin (Las Vegas, NV), and 12 points from Courtney Lewis (Port Jefferson, NY). Shaina Iton (Peekskill, NY) added four points, 10 rebounds and three blocks.

LeFevre led Bard with 12 points, two rebounds and two steals. DeCaprio added 10 points and four assists. Sarah Morris had seven points and 13 rebounds, and Katie Esposito had seven points and 12 rebounds.
