ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's tennis team edged Lehman College, 5-4, in a non-league match on Tuesday evening.
It was the final match of the fall portion of the 2018-19 season for the Raptors, who will go into the spring with a 5-3 record. Tuesday's match was tight.
All three doubles matches were competitive, and Bard took two of the three, getting victories from the No. 1 team (
Katie Esposito,
Katri Shields) and the No. 2 team (
Jamie-Rose Graham,
Eva Grunblatt) by 8-5 scores.
Bard then swept the first three singles matches to clinch the victory. Esposito gave up just one game at No. 1, while Shields and Graham didn't give up any in winning at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively. Lehman prevailed at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6. The Lightning are 4-8.
Bard women's tennis will play its next match in March.
