BRONX, N.Y. - The Bard College squash team lost a pair of matches at the Fordham Round Robin on Saturday.

Early in the day, the Raptors were swept by Fordham, 9-0, though a pair of matches went to five games each. Peter Yuen held off Rhys Nordstrom at No. 1, 11-9, 2-11, 9-11, 11-9 and 11-6. And Vikramaditya Joshi went down in five games at No. 5, losing the fifth game, 11-9.

Later, NYU defeated Bard, 6-3. It was another five-game loss for Nordstrom at No. 1, but Ayateru Maeda won his match at No. 2 in five sets, while Pranjal Ghate and Artun Ak picked up Bard's other victories at Nos. 4 and 6, respectively.

Coach Craig Thorpe-Clark cited the play of Ak and Nordstrom after the match, as well as Ghate and Maeda. Nordstrom went five games with two players who defeated him handily last year, according to the coach.

Up next for Bard is the Vassar Round Robin. The Raptors will take on Connecticut College and Northeastern at Vassar on Saturday.
