ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Bard College men's volleyball team opened the 2018 season at the Cardinal Classic, hosted by St. John Fisher College, on Friday night.

The Raptors lost to St. John Fisher, a new program, 3-0, and later to D'Youville 3-0. A complete box score from the second match hasn't yet been made available.

The hosts beat Bard, 25-12, 25-20 and 25-15. The Cardinals hit .276 for the match and collected 14 aces. Mike Strumpfler (Rome, NY) led St. John Fisher with nine kills and he hit .692. 

Josh Kim and Stefan Briggs had four kills apiece for Bard, and Kim added seven assists. Tristan Kozul led the Raptors with five digs.

Kozul had five kills and 12 digs in the match against D'Youville, which Bard lost 25-15, 25-14 and 25-15.

The Raptors will play Wilkes in the Cardinal Classic on Saturday at 2.
