Three seniors finish careers as Raptors fall to Keuka College

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. - The Bard College men's volleyball team lost its final game of the season Sunday afternoon, falling in straight sets at Keuka College, as three seniors played in the final games of their careers.

Set scores for the contest were, 25-15, 25-17 and 25-15.

Bard's three seniors, Alex Adams, Mahir Sheikh and Shane McDonald all suited up for the last time of their collegiate careers Sunday.

Adams finished with four kills and two blocks, Sheikh recorded 20 assists and three digs and McDonald added five kills.

The three have played vital roles in the development of the men's volleyball team over the past few years and we here at Bard athletics wanted to take this opportunity to thank them for their dedication and hard work.

The three of you will be greatly missed and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Meanwhile, the Raptors as a team wrapped up their season with a 5-23 record, while the Wolf Pack of Keuka College finished 9-15 overall.

The Wolf Pack controlled the game from start to finish, as the Raptors never led once in any set.

The first and third sets were easy wins for Keuka, but the second set was a close affair early, before the Wolf Pack began to pull away late.

After trailing by as many as five points in the second set, the Raptors rallied to cut the deficit to just two points, with Keuka up, 11-9. But from there, the hosts built upon their lead, as the Raptors weren't able to get closer than four points the rest of the way.

Bard didn't help itself out, as the team struggled to hit the ball on its way to a.022 percentage on the afternoon. Meanwhile, the Wold Pack faired better, finishing with a .271 percentage.

The Raptors also struggled with errors, committing twice as many as Keuka did.

Stefan Briggs and Tristan Kozul tied for the team-lead with six kills each in the contest and Tyler Zowaski led Bard in digs with nine.

Pat Dillon (Oswego, NY) led Keuka in kills with eight, as Chris Corcoran (Big Flats, NY) finished with team-highs in assists (25) and digs (11).

The Raptors will return to action in January 2018.
