Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Raptors soar over York College, 3-0

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's volleyball team flew past York College Saturday afternoon, sweeping the Cardinals, 3-0 at the Stevenson Athletic Center. 

The Raptors breezed to victory with set scores of 25-12, 25-16 and 25-13.

Bard (4-11) dominated the match from start to finish.

The first set saw the hosts build up a 16-point lead late in the frame, up 24-8, before the Cardinals of York College (3-11) scored a few late points to make the final scoreline more respectable.

The second set was the closest of the day, but the result was never in doubt for Bard. During the set, the hosts established a 17-8 lead, before the visitors rallied to make it a 17-13 game. 

From there, the Raptors scored seven straight to make it a 24-13 contest, before finishing off the set a few points later at, 25-16.

The final set of the day was quite similar to the first two, as the Raptors again constructed a big lead and York was unable to rally back and challenge the hosts. Bard took the set and match by the score of 25-13. 

Bard enjoyed a solid hitting performance on the day, as they hit .276 over the three sets. York meanwhile struggled, as the team finished with a -.091 hitting percentage overall. 

Tristan Kozul and Alex Adams each finished with 10 kills, tying for the game-high in the match. Mahir Sheikh collected 23 assists, while Adams and Sheikh tied with five digs each.

Shane McDonald led the way with an impressive six aces and Miroslav Skular recorded three blocks during the win. 

As for York, Burrel Kirk Murray ( Harlem, NY) finished with four kills and Adil Manji (Elmhurst, NY) added 10 assists. 

Up next for Bard, a pair of UVC matches against Elmira College and New Paltz College on March 11th. The first match kicks-off at 1:30 p.m.
