CANTON, N.Y. - A 26-5 run that bridged the first and second quarters led the St. Lawrence University women's basketball team to a 77-32 victory over Bard College in a Liberty League game on Saturday afternoon.
The Saints improved to 9-13 overall, 6-8 in the Liberty League. Bard fell to 0-23, 0-14.
It was close early, and Bard was down just three with a few minutes to go in the first quarter when St. Lawrence suddenly caught fire. After an average first quarter, St. Lawrence ended up shooting 62 percent from the field in the first half and led, 55-14, at halftime.
Sophomore Meghan Hynes (Hopkinton, MA) led the Saints with 17 points, while Caroline Dalton (Rochester, NY) added 13 points and seven rebounds.
Senior
Annie Kissel accounted for more than half of Bard's scoring with 17 points, she also grabbed three rebounds.
Sarah Morris added seven points and three steals, and
Alexis Akingbade finished with five points and five rebounds.
