POTSDAM, N.Y. - The Bard College women's basketball team lost at Clarkson University Friday night, 76-46, in a Liberty League matchup.
The Raptors (0-22, 0-13 Liberty League) began the night slow, falling behind, 10-0, early in the first quarter.
After cutting the lead in half, via an
Alexis Akingbade layup with 6:12 remaining in the quarter, Bard was outscored,15-2, over the rest of the frame.
After one quarter of play, Clarkson (13-9, 8-5 Liberty League) was out in front, 25-7.
Over the next 10 minutes, things went better for Bard, as the team outscored the Golden Knights, 11-8 in the quarter. That cut the lead to, 33-18, at halftime.
However, Clarkson used the break to its advantage and come out on fire in the third quarter. The team scored 23 points in the quarter to put the game out of reach, as the hosts held a commanding lead almost the entire second half.
On the night, Bard was led by
Caleigh DeCaprio, who scored 11 points. Akingbade tallied 10 points and eight rebounds, while
Annie Kissel added nine points.
Clarkson had four players finish in double-digits, including Ashley Hill (Pembroke, NH), who scored a game-high 14 points.
