NEWBURGH, N.Y. - The Bard College women's basketball team opened the 2017-18 season with a 77-31 loss at Mount St. Mary College on Wednesday night.
The Knights (1-0) jumped out to a big lead and never looked back, making the most of 11 first-half turnovers and a 12-3 rebounding advantage.
Mount St. Mary got 13 points from Lyndsay Pace (Cranford, NJ), 12 points and 12 rebounds from Kayla Cleare (West Hempstead, NY), and 12 points and three steals from Morina Bojka (Prospect, CT).
Bard (0-1) was led by freshman Katie Esposito, who scored all of her team-high 10 points in the fourth quarter. Elena LeFevre added seven points and five rebounds; Caleigh DeCaprio hit a pair of three-pointers, and Erin Kennedy chipped in with five points and five rebounds.
